To add to the long list of wardrobe malfunctions, here comes another. While shooting for Priyadarshan’s film in Kerala, Urvashi Sharma suffered from a case of wardrobe malfunction.

She was shooting for a song when a wayward button gave way, and her blouse opened. She was quick on the uptake and hurriedly caught it with her hands. She was then covered and rushed to the vanity van.

Fortunately for her, there were not many people present except for the choreographer Pony Verma and the unit.

“Yes, the incident happened. However, I don’t think you should make a big deal about it,” tells Pony and adds, “The button of her blouse came off and she was naturally very uncomfortable. But the situation was handled carefully. Urvashi was covered and sent to her van.”

Says Urvashi, “I am okay with it now, although I did not feel the same way when it happened. I realised that my button had broken and so I covered myself with my hands and I ran to my van.

The camera was on the side and so nothing was recorded. Moreover, there were very few people on the sets s my close-up scenes were being shot.”

It was a different innings for cricketer Virender Sehwag who played on a new turf here, much to the delight of his fans.

It was the Kolkata Fashion Week-II and not a cricket stadium that sizzled as Sehwag walked down the ramp last night.

Dressed in an elegant ivory sherwani, Sehwag, currently recuperating from a shoulder injury, virtually caught the eyeballs as he sashayed the ramp in designer Rocky S creation.

“Sehwag was perfectly chilled out in the attire. He was happy about what he was wearing. He fitted into the suit perfectly,” Rocky told reporters late last night after the show.

On chosing a cricketer as a showstopper, Rocky said “everyone know me for Bollywood. They wear my creation and also walk the ramp for me. But this time, I chose Sehwag as sports is also very important in India”.

Talking about his new collection, the designer said “this time, I focussed on colour and textile-based comfort oriented fashion wear. I tried to keep my collection very light so that it becomes more wearable.

“I used silk, hand-woven fabric mainly adopted from Benaras and linen in my collection. I made this collection, specially keeping in mind the culture of Kolkata where hand-woven and colourful textiles are popular among people.”

Praising Kolkata’s fashion scenario, he said this is the perfect time for him to launch his collection in the city despite recession.

Bollywood actress Rani Mukherji says that rumours about her getting married have started affecting her career.

“These rumours have been going on for three years and they have started now affecting my career. Lot of filmmakers who approach me for roles start by asking whether I am getting married. They have apprehensions whether I can commit myself to their project,” Rani said in an interview.

The numero uno actress termed as “most laughable” the rumour which said that she had left her posh Juhu bungalow because it had brought her ill luck and had moved back to her old flat at Andheri.

“I have made the new house for my family from my hard work, sweat and blood. My house is my temple and how can I run away from it. I am being made to look like an insecure person which I am not,” she said.

The actress said the baseless stories about her are getting stretched too much.

“I cant get married to one man for the last three years or to different men,” she said about her alleged link ups including the rumour about her marriage to filmmaker Aditya Chopra.

“I am the only daughter of my parents. When I get married, it will be announced publicly and will take place with pomp,” Rani said referring to the story that she has secretly married to Chopra.

The actress said instead of wasting time of clarifying bizarre rumours, she would rather concentrate on her films, work hard and make her fans happy.

Rani admitted that she was the odd person out where PR forms a major part of her profession.

“It is shortcoming that I have as I don’t like to talk about my daily life. The media has taken advantage of my silence and communicated to my fans very wrongly,” she said.

Rani said three years ago when the rumours about her marriage started, her father had to come on television to clarify.

“No father should be put through such misery. Despite clarifications, the rumours have continued. You have to believe what I am saying. But, if you still continue spreading stories about me, I cant stop you,” Rani said.

She said she has never felt the need to have a PR or a secretary to interact with the media on a daily basis. “I believe my work will speak for me,” she said.

Rani said Dil Bole Haddipa came to her at the right time when she got a feedback that she was crying too much onscreen doing serious roles. She said her last release Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic unfortunately did not do well.

Rani said applying glue on her face to stick the beard was the most tedious task. “Men in unit when I became a guy forgot that I am Rani when I was in the getup of Veer, the cricket loving Sikh boy,” she recalled.

Rani said she had not taken a break from movies. “I started working on Haddipa immediately after my last release.

“I can do two three films at a time if there are great roles. I don’t want to prove anything to my detractors that I work only in Yash Raj films. If Yash Raj offers me challenging roles, I will take up those projects,” she said.

The actress said she has not worn a bikini in Dil Bole Haddipa. “Bikini is a very strong word. I have just worn a bikini top with salwar. When you lose weight and tone your body, people are wanting to dress you up in a different way and there is no harm in trying it, “she said.

She said the ultra glam look was for the music video of the film. “In the film, I could not take liberties because the glam look would not go well with the character I play. But in the music videos, I could be portrayed differently,” she said.

When asked about criticism that she had lost her numero uno status, Rani said number games do not affect actors. “The number games are for those who believe in it. The roles that I get make me the actor I am. Getting challenging roles is the best part of being in any stage of your career. I am trying to reinvent myself as an actor and as a looker,” she said.

When asked about her future projects, Rani said she cannot work in any random film. “I am waiting for a great offer. I want to work with Vishal Bharadwaj, Imitiaz Ali, Anurag Basu. But, they have to come up with something which I would like to do,” she added.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who doesn’t like to make her private life public, has opened up about beau Saif Ali Khan and says he is not as flamboyant in real life as he looks on screen.

“Saif is very different (from his on screen image). On screen I think he is very flamboyant, but in real life he is very understated and relaxed,” said Kareena.

“He is very classy but he has an amazing charm about himself, an inherent charm which can be seen on screen. And I think that is what’s there with him personally also,” she told choreographer-director Farah Khan on STAR Plus’ chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein.

Bipasha Basu’s latest film Pankh has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the Indian film censor board because the actress swears twice for her role.

Director Sudipto Chattopadhyay has refused to cut the scenes featuring swearing, despite a six-month battle with the censors.

The film’s ‘A’ certificate means that it can only be seen by those over 18, as it may contain sex, kissing, adult language or erotic scenes.

In an interview with The Times of India, Chattopadhyay said: “Bipasha plays protagonist Maradona’s alter ego. She fights as well as supports him throughout the film.

“She says ‘f**k’ during one of the scenes where they are at loggerheads. She tells Maradona, ‘You are f**ked up in the head, that’s why you want to f**k me’.”

The first-time director has conceded to cutting other scenes which feature objectionable language.

Our source utters, “He will be seen as Salman Khan himself, with the other star cast of his movie Wanted. CID team gets the news of piracy of the movie and Salman with them investigate the case and catch the culprit”.
